I'm feeling so discouraged. I never expected I had gained so much weight during the pandemic and beyond. I'm trying to rustle up some motivation to lose some of this weight. I feel like trash. Exhausted, sore, hungry, moody. I don't even know where to start so I'm just logging my food again. 😭😭😭

It could very well be what you're eating. Don't just focus on protein; focus on what your body burns best. Some people burn carbs better, some people burn fat and protein better. That part is genetic, but once you figure that out, you can hash out your maintenance number and try to stay about 500 calories beneath it. For most people, 2000 calories is your maintenance number, so 1500 would be your calorie limit each day. The most important thing is to not rush yourself... I had to learn that lesson the hard way, doing too much all at once. Weight loss is a hiking trip, not a sprint. Minimizing your stress will help melt those stress pounds away, and that's honestly probably the majority of the weight you gotta try to shed after the pandemic.
