Dziennik Ryojiin, 02 kwi 16

So for the last 3 days I've been suffering from excruciatingly painful and stiff calves. I did a lot of calf raises on Wednesday, like 50-60 in 3 different positions, and I think I really over did it.

I can't fully stand up straight because the muscles and tendons are so tight they don't allow it. Once I finally to get to full standing I have to stay there, because the moment I sit down again they'll stiffen right up. Even just putting pressure on the muscles through touch hurts, I can't pull my leg all the way up and fold it, sit criss-cross or anything like that. It's really getting to me.

I've gone on several walks since, just trying to keep everything loose and moving, I feel that's all I can do. This better clear up by Tuesday, my new job starts then and I can't be practically incapacitated.

Try doing ankle circles and calf stretches. Hopefully that will loosen them. You can also try a heating pad. Good luck.

Bananas are good for leg cramps, you might try. Good job on the exercises though !

I've done Icy-Hot rubs already, and I have a heating pad that I could try. The walking does seem to help a bit so long as I keep it up. As soon as I rest they just clench right up. The tightness is starting to travel up my hamstring and thigh, I think from over-compensating for not being able to stand up straight and just the pain in general. I've never had this happen before. It's kinda scary.

Soak your feet/take a bath in epsom salts. I do a cup for a bucket, and 2 cups for a bath. I waitress/bartend and this usually helps.

I was going to recommend bananas too, lol. I think the potassium is supposed to help with muscle cramping. I could be wrong, but I think that's what someone told me.

I've heard the same thing about potassium. I think I have some supplements in the cupboard, but they may be out of date by now, so less effective. I'll pick up some bananas later, maybe some peanut butter for some protein to help rebuild whatever I hurt/broke, and just keep stretching them, working them gently, so they don't really tighten and cramp up even worse.

Actually, I use magnesium tablets after weight training - take like 3 tablets. It reduces muscle soreness.

Most people are magnesium deficient - Try an epsom salt bath
