OK, thanks FS people! Glad I stopped by to update my food journal and ended up reading random journals from people. You've inspired me to do two things: (a) skip the burger I had planned for dinner but instead have fish & peas and (b) actually finally, after months of saying "I must do..." I dusted off the 30 Day Shred DVD which has never been used and I'm all set to start off with Day 1. Now how many cals does "dusting off a DVD" count as? Just kidding. I'm gonna actually finally do Day 1 of "the shred". Yeah! Come on Jillian, you have full permission to kick my chunky-bum for the next 30 days! ;-)

Woot! Made it through Day 1 of the 30 Day Shred. Dang, I need a shower... and a beer! LOL. That was harder than I expected but I'm so happy I finally did it! Yay me!

Congrats on the new commitment to exercise! Getting through 30 days should set you on a good path. It took me quite a while before exercise didn't seem like a chore - I can't put my finger on exactly how long but it was somewhere around 6 to 8 months, if memory serves - but it's worth hanging in there until then. The results, both mental and physical, are amazing!

Great job for exercising! Hopefully it's not so difficult that it discourages you. If you are anything like me you start exercise programs with a waterfall of enthusiasm and end up with a drip, drip, drip of boredom. I have learned to embrace my drippy faucet approach on days I'm not in the mood. A simple walk around the block (if it's not 100 degrees!), a few yoga moves or even just a little stretching makes me feel like I have accomplished something. That way I don't give up all together and feel like a failure (again). Good luck with your shredding. Wish I could join you with a beer. :)
