I am so beyond frustrated!!! I lost 2 lbs but now I've gained 1 back and I have been creating a calorie deficit in excess of 500 calories a day. I just don't understand this. I've done research, I understand the process, it's logical, I'm following it, and I'm still not losing weight.

I know that the older you get, the more your metabolism slows down and having the thyroid disorder doesn't help but really. If I'm expending 3,000 calories a day but only taking in 1700, how can I gain weight??!!!

It stinks when you do everything right and you don't see results. You are going to have to keep changing things till you find what works. V8 contains a lot of sodium (as do any processed or packaged products). Make sure you are drinking water to flush out that sodium. You might want to start your day with protein. The apple is great, but protein will metabolizes better than other foods and keeps you fuller longer. You might also try eating smaller frequent meals with protein at each meal. It keeps your metabolism burning. If you don't exercise and can, start. As you age, exercise becomes so important. A combination of strength training and cardio is great. You will see changes in your body even if you don't see it on the scale right away. Good luck!
