It's been a tough couple of weeks. Almost 3 weeks ago I found out I had cancer. A week ago I met with the multidisciplinary team who told me I would need surgery, chemo and radiation and to expect to be on leave from work for 6 months. The next day surgery was scheduled for the beginning of October.
It's a lot to take in. And so much uncertainty. I feel a lot of support from family, friends and co-workers, so that's helped me so far. I'm waiting for it to hit me and just break down. It's coming. I had a good cry at church last week, which really helped.
I'm going to try and continue to post my meals because I think it's good to keep up with a routine. But it's not about weight loss right now. I need to keep up my strength and immunity. The nutritionist told me to make sure I get enough protein and calories.
