Overnight Steel cut oats with Hemp seeds, grapes & muesli.

Had a very small serving of this, which kept me full all the way till lunch at 1pm.

* Correction: not hemp seeds but chia seeds 😊 + Vanilla Extract (which makes it smell like a freshly baked sponge cake)

How do you make your over night oats? I tried it a few weeks ago and it was all watery the next day :-( I used almond milk, is that the problem?

Hey @Lowcarbfemmefit 🙂 I also use almond milk and I find that it works perfectly still. I find that using a compact jar with a lid the trick to getting all the ingredients to fuse together overnight - if I use a bigger bowl it doesn’t normally fuse together or it just takes longer. But in short, I basically mix all the ingredients together (except the ones I want to use to garnish), add some milk (almond or soy in my case) and then leave it in the fridge for the entire night. With Steel cut oats I have to keep it atleast 2 nights in the fridge but the normal oats is just one night. As for the ratio, I roughly add about two parts liquids to one part oats so that it soaks up enough liquid overnight.

Ah ok, I see the problem. I just whacked it into a bowl and put it in the fridge. Haha. will use a Consol jar with lid next time. Ive also seen people add all sorts of things like berries, chia seeds, ginger, cinnamon etc.

I love adding berries and other things too! They add a sweetness & so many other flavors - it’s absolutely delicious!
