Wow! Did not expect any comments let alone 8 people giving me motivation! ( i feel special!) Starting off, I'd like to list a few of my goals, conflicts, and other stuff so i can keep everything in track and refer back to this entry just as a reminder.
Why I want to lose weight:
- I love being active, and I want to be fit. I wish I was able to get into a sport I wanted to such as basketball and badminton.
- I want my family to stop fat shaming me. Coming from a family who puts tradition over religion it's hard to tell them I need a therapist, when the rest of the family is stressed over my two other siblings who (one has brain hemorrhage, the other has seizures) also need therapy. I'm unhappy with my past which affects my present daily, my friends give me constant anxiety, and there's a lot more but this is not a complaining session. This affects my eating habits because I alternatively binge as a coping mechanism. A solution to this is having a therapist which I am currently working on.
- I want to feel confident. Over the years with my family scolding me for my weight and then feeding me a whole feast has created a burden for the way I look at myself in the mirror.
- I need to feel healthy. If I don't feel healthy at the end of the day, I feel like the day is a waste. A solution to that would be reminding me that no one is perfect.
What might conflict:
- I need to start convincing myself to do an at-home workout everyday.
- School: being a 15 yr old high-schooler might just be my biggest conflict. Im sitting on a chair 8 hours a day, doing homework the rest of the day, watching tv as my only free time, and barely getting sleep if the homework is too much on that day.
That's it for now ( this is a lot im SOOO sorry if anyone ACTUALLY reads this haha)

I read it and I understand really where you're coming from high school is the toughest part of my life I'm 58 years old and I still have scars from it but eventually he realize that the only person holding you back is yourself and you can do anything you want from what you said I can tell if you thinks you are a very smart individual you're very strong individual you've already figured out why you do some of the things you do as far as overeating etc I'm hoping you can find a person in your life that can give you support and guidance a teacher a counselor someone that can help you with your journey with late weight loss of course you can always get help here and we are all willing to help you you're on the right track don't give up

I read it and like the comment before self love is what matters.. you’ve got this.. you’ve concurred the biggest part knowing why and what triggers you.. don’t give up.. push through.. see you on the end trail.. peace & luv💙

Beautiful post - just take one step at a time and be who you really are...also, you could ask your school counselor to help you find a therapist and encourage your parents to allow it to happen.

One thing that helped me in the beginning was this phrase..."Don't Eat If You're Not Hungry." When I wanted to eat and I knew it had only been a short time since I ate, I drank a full glass of water, 8 0z. Waited to see if I was still hungry and most of the time I was not so I didn't eat. I started at 177 lbs. and have gone down to 128. and am still there. So good luck ! don't let your family load up your plate and don't eat if you aren't hungry. lol

Welcome to FS! I get everything you wrote, and identify with the sitting all day issue. My wife got tired of my 72+ hour weeks and sent me back to school at the tender age of 35. All of my prior working years I spent on my feet. Suddenly sitting and studying all the time packed it on (slowly; I tried to watch my eating as I had yo-yo’d multiple times previously). My senior year I was invited to train with a classmate who looked like a Men’s Health magazine model (and a straight-A student pursuing Bachelors AND Masters in Civil Engineering simultaneously. He played football while getting his Bachelors in Business.). Eating counts for everybody, but training makes a huge difference for me psychologically. Wishing you the best! If you need any training-at-home tips, let me know. BTW, I am married to a retired school counselor and my daughter is a clinical therapist for a hospital.
