Day 32 (Week 5): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST
Good morning all you wonderful health-minded lovely FS peoples!!!
So I have lost some focus the last few days. Time to get back on track. I recorded a weigh in this morning but I hope it is not an accurate one. I need to record the gain though because I had been shrugging it off too lightly, I guess. Tiem to get back on track. It's 5:15 and I am heading to the gym in a few short minutes but I felt I needed to get this journal in first to amke sure my focus is solid.
Over 30 days in the challenge! Hard to believe. I have come a long way but I have a long way yet to go. Today I need to take the information I have and decide on my Oct carb goal. I also need to add on what I want to lose for Christmas for the 1lb/week challenge.
So I need to lose 6 lbs this week...a lot SHOULD be water weight and it might still be doable but I need to keep focus eat healthy (not starve) and exercise which I was distinctly lacking last week mostly due to being a wimp while sick :)
Floor Goal: 250 (13lbs down from the beginning of the challenge, 16.5 down from when I first started watching in August, and 6 from now.) This might have to be by October 10th or so, instead. we shall see how the week goes. Mid-range: 245 Weigh in at 245 for Thanksgiving with my folks, which is 18lbs from the beginning of the challenge. 21.5 from when I first started and 11 from now. Still totally doable. Ceiling goal: 235 by the 30th of November. I can SO do this. I have 2 months left :) 28 from challenge start, 21 from now and 31.5 from when I first started watching.
And for The Christmas Challenge the new ceiling goal will be 230!! The other two goals will remain the same until I actually reach them, THEN I might readjust everything.
1st things first. Get myself to 250 (almost there!!!! WOW), then 245 then worry about the others!
Update: 8:25AM So the gym was great! My treadmill time was a little less intense than last week, I think I may be still under the weather a bit. I still did 30 minutes and kept my heart rate over the "fat burn" rate for my age bracket. I did not hit cardio this week (did 15 mins of cardio level heart rate last week) but since fat burn is the goal I am proud of myself for doing this this morning. I walked 1.5 miles at various speeds and burned about 218 calroies according to the machine. I did a shortened round on the weight machines making sure I did my abs, legs and back of the arms since those areas are my focus and I did not quite have time for the whole circuit.

Edit to add: So the first week Of October Counting Carbs challenge, I am going to shoot for 175 NC - I am going to use FS method even though I know it is not exact. I will take measurements tonight.

Heading to the gym at 5:15 certainly sounds like the right track to me! I don't think you were a wimp last week for not exercising. If you're sick, your body needs energy to heal! Have a wonderful workout!

Yes and no AmryK....I was not THAT sick and I coulda still eaten better. I am not dwelling but I like to be hoenst with myself too! Thank you for the kind words and I am very glad to be back on track this morning!

If the gain was sudden, then I'm pretty sure it's "water weight" and can be taken off just as easily. To have actually gained 3 pounds over the weekend you would have had to eat 10,000+ more calories over your normal intake... that's about 50 original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I wouldn't worry about it. Once you get back on track, you'll probably shed what you gained fairly quick.

That's my hope /0. It's disheartening but not game breaking :) The gym this morning helped a lot I am sure. Besides I was not only sick but TOM was also sniffing around last week. I am thinking the monthly gain was just delayed a bit this month :D

I have no clue what a good carb day should be.. haha. I know that yesterday was over 200 carbs, but the two days before that I recorded were both under 150. *sigh* It gets so complicated!

Yeah.. That's why I took an average of what I considerd a "good week" and one I lost a decent amount of weigth in and just lowered it by 15 carbs....I don't want to go drastic since I am generally doing well.

I am very pleased with today I made it to the gym this morning and ate mostly within my guidelines I hope these 3.5 lbs melt away as quickly as I gained them.... Waist measurement: 39 1/2" Chest Measurement (not bust the bra measurement not cup): 39 1/2" hmmm is it normal for them to be the same/close?

Good for you getting back to the gym! I'm impressed that you hit it running so quickly after being sick. the 3.5 will go PDQ :)
