Well, I know I have been a stranger lately, and I don't know exactly what my weight is today but I thought I post a quick note so my FS buddies would know what black hole swallowed me up. The day after I saw my doctor about the diabetic neuropathy I began having TIA's, or what they call "mini strokes". My brain is not getting enough blood flow causing my whole right side (face, arm, leg, foot) to go completely numb for 1-2 hours each day. One morning getting out of the shower my right side went numb and I fell, only I could not feel myself falling or hitting the floor. anyway I ended up breaking 1-2 bones in my foot. In the past week I have been to the ER, a neurologist, an orthopetic specialist, had 2 CAT scans (one for my head, one for my foot), an EEG, a MRI, and a MRA and a heavy plaster splint on my right leg. lots of hurry up and wait and no one telling me what the next step is or what happens next, just schedule a revisit. I do know the neurologist is looking to see if I need surgery on my carotid arteries. The orthopetic guy says no weight on the right foot for 6 weeks and that I need a knee walker or 'roll-a-bout' that start at about $450 and go up. Not sure if I will be able to drive yet or when I can tell work when I will be back.
My dear husband has taken the whole week off: to get me to the next doctor or test, pushing me in a wheel chair, rearranging the furniture in the house, helping me take a bath, bringing me meals in bed, etc. He hasn't even complain or rolled his eyes (much) He thinks the shower chair is in there just for him. oh well if it makes him happy :)
Soooo guys, I will check in periodically. Right now I have alot of challenges to solve at home. Besides with this splint/cast on, and it is heavy, I have no idea what I weigh. I get to eat what ever hubby decides to fix and when he wants to fix it. Yesterday I had talk him out of hamburgers & fries and then out of ordering pizza and wings. I don't think I'll gain everything back but who knows if I will lose any.
