Dziennik Debbieto, 24 lut 21

I’m starting to stress out over my DD’s 21st bday. We are traveling to spend it with her at college. It’s been planned for a long time. I know I will be drinking and it’s going to disrupt my progress. It’s my planned cheat. I am doing it knowing full well it may set me back, but am making the conscious decision to do it. I am allowing myself to drink, but not to go crazy and definitely not to throw out everything. I still want to be eating clean. I would rather enjoy this milestone with my daughter and not weigh in for two weeks till I am back on track and the damage is reversed, than to miss out. It’s a once in a lifetime event.

It sounds like you're still feeling a little guilty about it - try not to. =) You're right, it's a once in a lifetime event! Enjoy it. A day isn't going to ruin everything - just get back to it when you're back. No worries!

As someone else once said on this app - your diet can wait, your life cant! enjoy the little moments and you'll get back on track in a few days no problem! all about balance

Sounds like you have a plan, stick with it and little, if any "damage" will be done. Enjoy the moments with family 💖

I hope this works out for you - don't forget, you don't have to drink alcohol to have a good time!

Congratulations on your daughter’s graduation! I’ve lost 67lbs so far and with two active sons it seems I’m celebrating their achievements often. The key is to workout everyday. Even if you overeat or occasionally drink, as long as you balance it with a workout, you won’t gain weight. Have fun celebrating but remember exercise is the key to a balance lifestyle (i.e., walk, jog, bike). Also Try to weight yourself everyday; it helps stay on track. Best wishes!

Or could you make the event less about the alcohol and just enjoy the occasion.

Yay! 21. 🍷 it’s fun to celebrate the “first legal drink” with your adult children! Give yourself permission to enjoy the evening. You can get right back to your plan the next day!

Have to agree with Kenna. This occasion won't come around again. Be thankful you can be with her. Moderation in everything. There will be time to make adjustments. Enjoy!

You mentioned a couple of times in your post about this being a planned cheat. Treat it as that and enjoy the time you have with your daughter. Just be aware that when you return you will be committed to return to healthy eating. I will say though, as someone who eats a pretty clean diet 80% of time, it can sometimes take a couple of days to get back on track when you deviate from what your body is used to. Don't overreact, just have fun and regroup when you get home. 💜

Thank you everyone for your comments. They definitely made me feel a lot better. I am a lot less stressed out about going. I’m going to have a good time and I’m just gonna keep it in check. Not gonna be hard on myself and I’m not gonna use it as an excuse to also go completely nuts.
