Dr. Dung more like. The Carbohydrate-Insulin model of obesity has been debunked several times over. Keto and IF are just tools that can help some reduce calories. For others it's needlessly strict dieting that can't be maintained. Neither are required and can be detrimental to most. Melissa is in amazing shape, triangle...

Aww, thanks Shrewdness! ❤️ I'm rather keen on ice cream too! In fact, I had a big bunch a couple days ago... Yep, I'm thinking ice cream and not pop is the culprit causing the clinging "fluffiness!"

🐻, thank you, but I'm a little bit cross! 😞My knee is quite sore this week. I did some extra lifting and then working in my flowerbeds and now I have to back off on my walking and gym time. I'm giving it a couple days to shape up! 😁

What is with the IF propaganda on posts that are not about it at all? Fasting results in fat loss (which results in improved health markers, not unique to fasting. lose fat: improve insulin sensitivity, lipids, glycemia...excess body fat is the culprit, not insulin) for the same reason as any other diet or method: a calorie deficit.

Yeah... Princess, honestly, it probably is the big anniversary meal and ice cream afterward. 😁 But pop! Sounds like something fun to blame! 😁 Tim, I absolutely wish I could ride with you!!! I bet you have places to go that aren't sraight up and down massive hills! San Francisco is famous for hills... We compare! Plus I'm terrified of the traffic! Someday! 😁

Dear me, triangle! Wellllll.... Not a fan of the copy paste. Seems like katsolo might need a job! I do like to fast from time to time, but restricted eating is not sustainable. Eating lard instead of beautiful, healthy, balanced food is not my style. I was obese. Following CICO as I literally learned from both the example and teaching of Diablo, I am no longer! Oh... And I move a lot! 😁

LaughingChevre, I don't have your background knowledge to say everything you can, but I do know from experience that what you say has been good for me! There are good and really poor and unsustainable ways to eat. I tried low carb, exchange dieting, super low fat... Lots of things for 20 years on and off. IF is fantastic for some, but it is still the same number of calories condensed into a small time. I like it sometimes. When working out hard or simply working a lot, I need the calories coming in more frequently to sustain my energy levels thoughout the day. Mostly, I think it is a great idea for folks to offer advice when it is asked for in this old world! 😁 ❤️

I didn't know you had tried all those approaches, Melissa! ❤️I think given how you look even when you're not quite where you want to be, you know plenty. All I can say is that eating a bit of everything within your energy budget and being very active seems to result in the best body composition. People whose physique I admire all say the same: adjust calories as needed, don't impose unnecessary rules, exercise, especially with weight.

I have to say I was guilty of preaching about fasting and carbs/insulin and sneaking it into any discussion imaginable. My family and friends were all "Oh no, here she goes again about the carbs" and unfortunately I converted a few acquaintances who still won't eat ice-cream and skip breakfast. Trying to explain to them now that they don't HAVE to do that to be healthy and that I was wrong. No idea how I convinced them since I was fat AF when preaching about it.

LOL. No time to read all the comments, but I will keep throwing out IF bombs. If it helps even one person get their life back the way I have gotten my life back, it will be worth it. I will put out "before and after" pics when I'm around 35 lbs down. I'm not going anywhere, but I do hate to see people suffer the way I used to suffer.... Have a great day. XOXO

^must not have time to see profile pics. You're responding to people who are MUCH closer to goal eating those sinful carbs in more than 3 feedings a day. Oh my, how is it possible? Oh yeah, it's because all diets are governed by CICO. Once you realize that, you can be free of the keto/IF cult. I hope that it happens for you, Triangle. I know the kind of grip being a zealot can have, so I'm not too hopeful.
