The food journaling has gotten pretty derailed lately, and it's a little frustrating. I'm eating a lot of meals that are prepared with a bunch of ingredients - sometimes by me, sometimes by my wife - and those can be almost impossible to log accurately. The problem gets even worse when I eat leftovers.
For example, I made a lentil and sausage soup a few days ago. Very tasty, lots of great ingredients - just vegetables, lean turkey sausage, lentils, broth, and spices. But I have no idea how much I'm actually eating when I spoon leftovers into a cup that I take to work to heat up. Same goes for dinner...leftovers are just impossible to log properly. So the whole thing sort of goes out the window once I hit a meal that I can't record correctly.
Probably unrelated (thanks to late night snacking - those carrots and plums are mighty fattening!), my weight has been going up a little lately - I THINK. Hard to say because now and then it fluctuates back down to where it had been holding steady. But the trend seems to be a few pounds upwards. Not sure if I'm concerned about this - on the one hand, I've wanted to put on some muscle mass... and I'm sticking with P90X, I feel a little bulkier, and my wife insists I'm showing more muscle. Also, the pants and belt aren't fitting any more tightly. But the scale is creeping up, and I think I'm losing some definition around the abs. Hard to tell.
Anyway, I guess I'll just use the belt as my guide. If the last notch ever gets snug again, time to restrict the calories. We're not there yet!
