I just got back from the gym. Today, when I got there, I hopped on the elliptical, and reached to dial back the workout timer from 1 hour to 30 minutes--when I stopped myself. A new idea ran around my head--what if I just leave that hour on there and see how long I can go....and I did. My max time for the elliptical is 45 minutes--and I was just aiming for that at first--but when I reached the 45 minute mark with 3 miles down, I decided to go for 50 minutes....then 55...and then the full hour...and then just a little more so that I would have a full 4 miles in. So, my totals were 63 minutes--most of that at my high end of the target heart rate. I put in 4 full miles, and burned 700 calories--according to the machine.

My weight loss has stalled a little bit with just a couple of pounds each week. I am hoping by pushing myself a little more that I can make a bit more come off a little quicker. I really would like to reach my 20 pounds mark by the end of this week--which is only 2 more pounds. So far, I have lost 18 since August 23, and am looking forward to achieving the 20. It just seems the first few of a goal are easier, but when I get closer to the mark I am aiming for...it gets a little slower. Maybe it is a mental thing that I need to push through.

Overall, I am really proud of myself. I am learning some things about me along this journey, that I may not have noticed had I not taken the time to commit myself to the weight loss and exercise routine that I am on now. I am a lot stronger than I ever thought that I was, and I have learned to dig deep when I need to. I am passionate about the things I do, even my diet and exercise.

Who knows what the future holds...but what I do know, is that I am a little better today, than I was when I started this whole journey...and I am even a bit better than I was yesterday. I think I am going to keep up what I am doing---and over time I will finally get to where I want to be.
