Having some problems with following the Dukan Diet. I am experiencing constipation, which is due to the lack of fiber on the pure protein days. I am having problems with a lack of energy, and to be honest, I don't think cutting out all fruits can be a healthy idea.

So, I think for me, I am going to use what I have learned with my 2 weeks on Dukan to construct something healthy for myself with low fat meats, low glycemic index foods, and restricting my starchy foods to only on special occasions. I am going to have a more balanced approach--which I hope will enable me to continue the losses that I am having on the dukan diet. So far, I have lost 18 pounds since August 23.

I don't see this as quitting per say, but going toward a more balanced approach that is not so harsh on my body. What is the point of losing weight, if I do not have the energy to enjoy my new found fitness. The point of losing weight is to be healthy--and I just do not see how I can maintain my health without even low glycemic index fruits and veggies.

Anyway, I suppose once again, I am learning there are no easy ways to lose weight. There are no shortcuts. It takes time--which I am willing to put into. It takes hard work, which I am doing with daily exercise. It takes having enough common sense to know what is healthy for your body and what is not--and I am still learning that one.
