We went to the spaghetti dinner last night at the Shrine. It's tough to portion when someone is serving you! Luckily the hubby was in line with me - when the woman gave me a huge serving (like 3 cups of pasta), I gladly passed to my hubby and I got a smaller portion. It's tough, since I've been so careful about my food choices.
I did have two big pieces of italian bread - my weakness - covered in margarine. But I kind of treated it as my spike day - I knew I'd be over the calories, so what was another 50 or 100 in the grand scheme of things.
I did completely avoid the dessert table since I really had no interest. I do like homemade stuff, but figured since we were seated the farthest from the table, so it made it easier to avoid. Plus, having a 4 month old little man on my lap who wanted his bottle helped too - trying to eat now that he watches everything is very difficult. What's the point of dessert if you can't enjoy it!
