I created a Lenten Challenge. I had missed the window for the other challenges and so created my own. I was going to start it Friday but set it for Monday in case anyone else wants to join (as per the suggestion from Fat Secret). So my post to the challenge is my same post here today....I will officially weigh myself Sunday and join the challenge. Ugh...don't really want to get on that scale, and I realize that this challenge is not about the scale. However, I do want an accurate record. Losing any weight will be a benefit of my Lent journey as I strive to bring myself closer to God.

I created this challenge because I missed the window for the other Lenten Challenges. Not sure if anyone will join this or not but this is where I will account through Good Friday. For me and my Lenten Journey is not only about cutting out something(s) that I enjoy but also doing thing(s) that I do not particularly enjoy. Through this process keeping in mind why I am doing it. I was created from God's image and as my body is his temple I certainly need to clean it up and take better care of it. So I will resolve to reduce my carbs...no candy (not even sugar free)...that is hard. Cutting out the breads. Also, going to the gym....as much as it is good for me I do not like it and look for ways to get out of going. I will also set time aside daily to reflect in complete silence. Fasting is part of the Lenten season and I will do this with shake substitutes, bar substitutes and broths. Having my one FULL meal daily. This does not mean that I cannot have a small meal, but only one meal daily will be a FULL meal. Friday's will only be fish or shellfish. This will be hard. I will not intentionally fail at these. I know I will struggle but will use it as a way to get closer to God.

Good luck with your Challenge, Jamie30024! I've never tried the Atkins shakes before - do they taste good?

Thank you SquirrelyGirl. I actually like several of the shakes, and find them to be pretty tasty.
