I just watched the documentary “Forks over Knves”. I have Lupus, my last fasting blood sugar was too high. Is anyone on this site doing a vegan plant based diet. I am not sure I can do it, having grown up in the Midwest, raised on red meat and potatoes. Vegetables being corn and peas, rarely even a salad. I need advise!!

One round of the flu should be plenty for one person, I got the flu again, not quite as awful as the first time, still put me down a few days. Back to the gym today, not as many steps, I did it! Have a basketball game to attend today, will park further from the door. Try to get my 5000. Steps in. Was very pleased last week to average 5000 steps. Still working on the food part, it will come, I can do this.
In my earlier post I referred to the “knockers”. My husband was at the VA for a follow up oncology appointment, he mentioned the knockers to his doctor. She said if I have any extra, they could use them also. I am keeping my fingers busy crocheting those knockers. Makes me very happy to know that I am helping other women. My family has been impacted by Breast cancer. My Mom, sister, Dad’s wife, cousin, and my daughter. I hate cancer!!!
Hope everyone enjoyes this day, we all do those things that make us happy and healthy.

I make quilted “teacher” bags for all grandchildren’s teachers. My oldest grandchild is 15, have been making them since she was in daycare. I have 6 grandchildren. Over the years I have made over 250 bags. Love doing them, teachers love them also. My reason for sharing, I don’t eat when I sew and quilt. It is a great pastime, I have to remind myself not to miss lunch. Not sure this is good though as I find myself very hungry in the evening. And not so much in control of what to eat. I also crochet “knocker’s” for breast cancer patients which is a good thing to do in the evening, I still find that I snack so very much in the evening. What to do, what to do?? Will figure it out, just wishing I had figured it out before I ate those two cupcakes for dinner.

I am a day late entering my new 2018 weight. Looking to this year as a new beginning, that will see a weight loss each month, a pound at a time. I have been wearing my Fitbit, my goal this month 5000 steps each day, with an average for the month above 5000 steps. Trying to eat less by watching my portions. Planning on little things to do when I think I am hungry, to really figure out what hunger is. Those are my goals for the month. Will let you know along the way how it is going. Hope for small goals for all of you that will bring us all to the big goal!!

I am now using a Fitbit. Had no idea how I would ever get to 10,000 steps, I am not there yet. I have discovered that walking between rooms from sewing machine to ironing board is more steps than I thought. When I got to over 2000 steps doing that, it being a beautiful day, I took a walk outside for another 2000 steps. Then I fixed dinner for my daughter and four Grandchildren I walked another 2000 steps. I am done for the day, maybe 10,000 steps can actually become a goal for me in the near future. Right now I am keeping my goal at 5000 steps a day. Consider it a bonus when I get more. This endeavor is always a work in progress, as is my life!! The picture is my work done today
