I am so angry! I am following my diet EXACTLY! I am staying within my calorie range, eating a variety of foods, drinking water and even excercising a little bit. I write everything down that I eat. I am frustrated that I have a 1 pound gain but I am trying not to let it get to me. I am trying to learn and understand my body. Since the gastric bypass it is just different and I am getting older...:(... and horomones and everything are changing.

I have a theory that fiber is not a post gastric bypass surgery recipient's friend.... I think it has the opposite effect on me that it is supposed to have on most normal people. I have had some constipation and I think that with a combination of being close to that time of the month is causing the weight gain. My clothes are fitting better and the back flab is reducing so I am happy about those things but no matter how hard I try not to let it, the scale still has power over my thoughts...

I am determined to not let this bother me and am going to be researching some stuff on my surgery and constipation and see what I can come up with. Anyone have insight?

1 lb isn't a huge difference and it could be a number of things - dehydration, constipation, retaining water due to the heat (etc). I know it's frustrating but it's really not something to worry about.

I agree. Don't worry about 1 lb. You have to eat 3500 calories more than what you are spending to gain that pound. I'm sure you are not doing that. If you are eating according to plan, then it is just water. About the constipation and fiber - make sure it's insoluble fiber you are getting. Soluble fiber (metamucil) is only going to make matters worse. Get the fiber from fruit, veggies, beans, etc. One of my favorite things is Thomas's Better Start Light Multigrain english muffins. They have 9g fiber. Also Flat-Outs (wraps) are super high on fiber as well. Keep at it and it will start falling off. Oh, and don't forget to drink enough water!

so funny..reading your journal is like reading my own.. i was SOOOO livid at my last .9 lb gain.. you would have thought it was NINE pounds and not nine TENTHS..lol.. and the same as what the others said.. it is not fat.. if you are logging and staying in your range and having a calorie deficit it is impossible to gain fat.. so just keep moving and keep going.. if u look at my history its actually really cute b/c i have red arrows on every week i have my period.. EVERY ONE!.. so i actually gained weight before i knew it was my week for my TOM and there it went.. same day... your body knows what its doing.. just let it do its thing..

Thank you guys! @ Naiomy...ya.... I am trying to really pay attention to my body and learn wtf it is doing...lol. I am trying to journal everyday so I can come back and read and look for trends. I am also tracking EVERYTHING I eat so I can see if there are certain foods that don't do well. It is just frustrating sometimes! :&

well lets see what happens friday... i've been trying to push thru.. and this week i had some sort of injurythat kept me from doing exercise mon and tues.. we'll see if i changed it up enough for my body to make me happy ;)
