Dear Bestees, I am really motivated. I stick to a diet of 1,200 to 1,600 calories a day. I try to avoid all starchy foods. I don't drink alcohol. I started about five years ago at just below 120 kgs. I had some challenging health issues. My ideal weight is 76 kgs, which I am basically at. Tomorrow night I'm wearing a suit that I bought before my weight problems. That means more to me than any sweet rubbish that I might eat. My advice, have faith that you are burning the fat, even if it's not showing up on the scales. Best regards, Rob

Dear Joolieboolie, I agree with you. Take your motivation from wherever you can get it. From my experience, telling yourself the blunt truth is the best way to start. Time passes anyway, so it doesn't matter if it's a slow process. It's better to spend a month trying to do something about your weight, with only a modest result, than to do nothing. Eventually, you get there, if you keep at it and are realistic in your expectations. I have largely kept the weight I lost a few years ago off. The longer I have tried to learn about food and tried to apply the basics using this app, the more in control I feel.
