It really depends on your height what you should be aiming for. Rule of thumb for women is: for every inch over 5'0", add 5 pounds to 100. I'm 5'5", so mine is 125 lbs. If you are 5'11", then 155 lbs. is perfect. If you are only 5'2", 155 lbs. will still make you look overweight (110 lbs. is healthy at that height).

Soonsoonsoon - I just applied your formula for my height, and I get a BMI of 19, which is a bit too close to underweight for me. I know when I was last anywhere near that weight my ribs showed like a glockenspiel, my hip bones were too sharp to lay on my front, friends and famiy called me anorexic, which I wasn't in any way. What's this rule of thumb calculation based on? Maybe recommended figures in the US are different from UK?

@SSS, I'm 5'5" & I would look sick at 125 lbs. I think it all depends on lean body mass (including bone mass) as to what your goal weight should be. I no longer have a set goal weight in mind, only a goal body fat percentage.

Once you get to where you are fine-picking details, it comes to Body Fat%. a 5'5" woman at 130lbs and 18% body fat will look more lean and toned than a 5'5" woman at 125lbs and 25% body fat. Muscle is more dense and compact, and uses less space than fat.
