2nd place in my first (in-house) Crossfit competition today in the female beginner category (I've been doing CrossFit for about 3 weeks). One other girl in my category was very competitive with me, as she had been in one of the classes with me before and wanted to beat me. We were actually put next to each other during each WOD, so it was kinda intense at some points.

WOD #1 - In 5 minutes: 750m row, AMRAP push presses with 45lbs [[I finished 1st in this, being one of the first off the rower surprisingly, and doing 34 push presses]]

WOD #2 - 3 rounds (10 minute time cap): 20KB swings (25lb), 15 wallballs (10lbs), 10 burpees. [[I finished last in my category with this, BUT I finished before the time cap...the trainers at my gym were impressed at this point]] Did not think I would finish before the 10 minute cap, I'm pretty sure I was near 100% of my MHR, my ears were pounding, but the judge kept yelling at me not to stop to push it out before time.

WOD #3 - In 6 minutes establish a max weight clean. [[Finished 1st in my category in this, 120lbs. The 120lb clean was ugly, but it got to my shoulders and that is all that counts in the competition. I think I was clean up to about 110 or 115, which was higher than my previous benchmark of 95]]

All I can say is "Wow!" I don't understand half of anything you said (lol) but I think it's wonderful you were able to compete intensely, show improvement, and place too. Way to go!

I don't know what most of what you typed means, either, but GOOD JOB!! I've just started this weight loss & exercise journey myself & I hope I can do as well as you are. You're an inspiration!

Basically, lift heavy, put weights down...repeatedly. Wall balls are squats all the way down with 10lb balls above head, on your way up, toss it to a target 8ft overhead, catch, repeat. Burpees are pushups and jumps from hell. A clean is a lift of the bar from the floor up onto your shoulders in one movement. Wildecard, thank you!
