I know this is really off-topic, but you folks are the only ones I know online with the knowledge that could help! I have an area of grass in my yard, but my Doberman is VERY allergic to it!! He's miserable even with antihistamines daily. How can I find a blog or something that could give me some direction as to what I could plant to replace the grass? . . . any kind of ground cover suitable for Arizona sun. I'm so depressed, I'm ready to eat anything in sight. I just got an estimate of over $4,000 to put in artificial turf -- completely out of the question!

$4000!!!! That's just crazy!! That could buy a lot of low-carb ice cream!!! ;) I will get back to you about this - one of my best friends is a plant specialist for the Department of Natural Resources. And he used to work in New Mexico. So I'm sure he may have some ideas for your climate. I'll email him and let you know what he says. Stay away from the pantry!! There is hope!!
