So I am trying to live life in a little different way. Don't worry, its not a religious epiphany or anything that drastic. It's just about how I spend my time in relation to my goals in life. I don't think I have been a very "effective" person. Sure, I go to school and get good grades, I show up for work (mostly) on time, I don't do drugs, and I think I am generally a good person. The problem is that I waste so damn much time on things that really don't matter. I've had this honey-do list for three years and some projects aren't even in sight. I hate when I go to sleep and think "Crap, I didn't do shit today". Sometimes that's OK but I am going nowhere fast by doing that every day.
So I have decided to change the way I do things. I read somewhere that the best way to accomplish big goals are to do little things that chip away at that big goal. So my new plan is that every day I will do at least 1 thing to advance towards my top 5 goals in life. Everyday I will not go to bed or rest until I have made a baby step in the right direct. For now these top five goals are as follows:
1) Be healthy - Food, exercise, and other 2) Clean/Fix my home 3) School/Homework 4) Read (book club books) 5) Pay off debt/Save
Everyday I will do SOMETHING to further each of these goals (granted the financial one will be a paycheck by paycheck basis and once the book club book is finished I am off the chain for the rest of the month). We'll see how this goes.
