I was always told I was a fat kid, and maybe I was. In high school I lost weight, but always thought, and was told, I was fat. I look back at pictures and think "What I wouldn't give to look like that again!". I've tried Weight Watchers, but still the weight came off so slow it was discouraging and I figured if I'm going to work this hard and not lose weight I may as well eat whatever! I've fluctuated up and down but I'm still under what I was when I put a stressful life behind me and began living. I want to do more with my life and my kids and it's difficult to do when you're this size. My kids are also overweight, and they are struggling with self image and many other issues. I worry about what they will become if they continue on this path. The professionals are telling me to teach them how to eat right, what and how much. And I think...Oh Yeah...I'm such a great example! I realize how can you teach your kids to do the right thing when you're not doing it? This is not an instance where "do what I say not what I do" necessarily works. I'm trying to take a different approach this time...so we'll see what happens!
