Keep coffee table where it is, move loveseat to face the fireplace so the coffee table is in front of the love seat, single seater facing windows near the short end of the table, tv on a diagonal from fireplace to window?

You should try switching the drapes around ....put the striped ones in the room with the brown furniture and the beige/cream ones in the room with the fireplace. Do you pull them open them in the daytime?  

I like the baskets on the wall. That would look nice in my dining room. 😀 

Always think symmetry and balance. Since you have baskets in the family room, consider a large picture to the left of the fireplace. Still think you need brighter pillows. You can purchase pillow covers inexpensively on Amazon or as you said, purchase and return, if needed, from your local HomeGoods or even Walmart. Remember, you have to be comfortable in the room. Do what you think is best. I have always used magazines for inspiration. Don't be afraid of thrift or second hand stores. Some of my prized possessions came from such places. If you would like, I can post a few pictures. My taste is very eclectic. 

And, finally, don't try to do everything at once. Your taste will change.

I just had a vision of all of these ladies coming to your house physically to decorate. Wouldn't that be a party!! 

I thought about the balnce and symmetry of what is in each room. The fireplace to me is calling for something else larger in the room to balance out the weight and I think heavier drapes would work. The room on the bottom because of the dark large furniture and heaviy drapes might feel more open and light with the striped drapes. That is just what I see others may see something different and it is always your own personal choice! Seeing just one angle of the room makes it hard envision what is going outside the pictures.... just play with it and move stuff around and it will all come together! 

That would be awesome FullaBella! Lol @crazycatchic, I see what you're saying. I ended up trying blue curtains and blue pillows for the family room. I really don't want drapes in the living room with the fireplace because its downstairs and already really dark down there 😕 

veritical colored blinds would nice 

I also like the baskets on the wall. Reminds me of the Mexican baskets my mother used to have. I guess it says home to me. 

Never mind @crazycatchic. I put the striped curtains in the brown room and it looks 10 times better. I have drapes in the other room now with the fireplace. I think jt works.
