I'm out of my funk, the sun is out, life is good! I participated in time trials last evening - the first time in a few years - and it was just what I needed for a boost in self esteem. The course was a 10K short course (approx. 6 miles) which was a nice way to ease back into TT. My average was slightly above 18mph which I was pleased with. It was such a fun evening - we had 8 participants and it was just fun to see some riders who we don't see very often (the racers!).

I ate well yesterday - need to on a TT day - but weight is still down a pound - yeah! I want to be back down to 142 before our big 4th of July celebration and class reunion. Went shopping with youngest daughter last Saturday and found a few cute clothes, including a very cute little black dress for only $27 - I never would have tried it on without Emily's encouragement - I would have went for the dress with the little jacket - ha! Emily told me that was way too old for me. What a sweet daughter.

I also had my Bike Friday tuned up yesterday - it was the first time our bike dealer had worked on one but he did a great job, it shifts better than ever. It is a folding bike with a dual drive chain. And my husband called our favorite B&B in Wisconsin and made reservations for July so we're all set. We'll drive the Mustang and my little Bike Friday will fit in the trunk! Can't wait to ride more of the Sparta bike trail and enjoy the hospitality of Jack and Elsie at the B&B. It is so much fun to have things to look forward to. It is going to be a great summer, so many things going on! I'm so happy to be at my goal weight enjoying life to the fullest - thanks to all the support of Mary Jean and my other FS friends!

I'm baaaccckkkkk! A very busy past three weeks, here is the abbreviated synopsis: Memorial Day weekend bike ride - great fun doing water yoga in the Niobrara River following 61 mile hot windy ride -flooded tent - good times with daughters on Memorial Day - work - sister and niece and great nieces arrive - host family reunion at our house for 35 people - start a week long bike ride exhausted - alternating wind/rain for 4 days on bike ride - only about 210 miles completed - great times in camp but give it up and come home early.

Weight 145 - a 3 lb weight gain. It should be a 20 lb gain for all that I ate - so I'm okay with that. I expected to actually gain a little weight during cycling season. I just cannot restrict my calories when I ride or I my cognition gets very fuzzy. I am focusing now on eating healthier and it feels good to get back to more of my normal foods and eating following eating frenzy during the family reunion and on the bike tour.

Suffered a few days from post-ride let down, like the feeling some people have the day after Christmas. But got to go out for a ride last night and thought about plans for rides for the rest of the summer.....lots of fun events to look forward to! I'm very excited about an idea I have for the annual Aebleskiver Bike Ride I host - it has the potential for being really fun!
